Survivor Support & Justice Pathway Guidance
At Pursue Peace, we believe that survivors should not have to navigate complex justice systems alone.
As part of our commitment to survivor-centred justice, we offer limited pro bono guidance to survivors of conflict-related violence, mass atrocities and serious human rights violations who are seeking to better understand available justice pathways and accountability mechanisms.
Our role is to help survivors make informed decisions by providing accessible information, strategic guidance and, where appropriate, referrals to trusted organisations, legal practitioners and support services.
What We Can Help With
We may be able to assist survivors in understanding:
Available justice pathways at national, regional and international levels
Accountability, truth-seeking and reparations processes
The role of courts, tribunals, commissions and other justice mechanisms
Opportunities for survivor participation in justice processes
Available remedies and support services
Relevant organisations and referral pathways
How We Work
Survivor-Centred
The dignity, agency, safety and choices of survivors guide every interaction. We recognise survivors as rights-bearing actors whose voices and experiences matter.
Confidential and Ethical
We operate with discretion, informed consent and a commitment to do-no-harm principles. Protecting the wellbeing and autonomy of survivors is central to our approach.
Independent
Our guidance is impartial and focused on helping survivors understand available options and make informed decisions.
Context-Sensitive
We recognise the importance of local realities, cultural contexts and community-based approaches to justice, healing and reconciliation.
Important Information
Pursue Peace is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation.
Our role is limited to information, guidance and referral support. Where specialist legal, psychosocial or other services are required, we will endeavour to connect survivors with appropriate organisations, professionals and support networks.
While we seek to assist where possible, capacity is limited and support cannot be guaranteed in every case.
If you would like to learn more about this initiative, or explore whether we may be able to assist, please contact us through our Contact page.
All enquiries will be treated with sensitivity and discretion.
Our Commitment
Survivor-centred justice is more than a methodology—it is a commitment.
We believe that those most affected by violence, conflict and injustice should be treated with dignity, listened to with respect, and supported in understanding the options available to them.
Through this initiative, Pursue Peace seeks to contribute in a small but meaningful way to ensuring that survivors have access to information, support and pathways that may assist them in pursuing accountability, recognition, healing and lasting peace.
